Laura has been surrounded by music and singing all her life with extensive classical training. Performing Celtic Harp, Scottish music and Gaelic songs at festivals and events, including competitions where she won 1st place and high marks in piano, harp and voice. Her repertoire covers a wide range of music genres including swing, pop, jazz & classical. Composer, publisher, teacher, recording artist and author, water colorist and avid knitter.

Laura was born in Chicago and began playing piano at the age of 4. Her father was a computer programmer at Purdue University long before personal PCs were virtually in the hands of everyone else. Her mother was a fashionable seamstress and dancer. She began formal lessons at age 7 with Alice Pike, studying Classical music, Shakespeare, foreign languages and classical literature, She was performing professionally at 15, playing for weddings and private parties, and teaching in her home studio provided by her parents. She began singing before the age of 2 and was trained in the operatic style by Martha Van Pelt in West Lafayette, IN. She went on to creating watercolor paintings, writing and composing music. She has published her European Travel Guide, "Travel, MY Way", and "Highland Fling Songs and Dance Music of Ireland and Scotland", plus original tunes in sheet music and her arrangements of Carolan tunes.   

She has performed throughout Indiana at events, large and small, Scottish and Irish Festivals, receptions, banquets, corporate and private parties, house concerts, wine tastings, museums, open house, assisted living, memorials, rescued pet events, yoga and relaxation therapy.  

She served as Costume Mistress for dance schools, including Butler University's prestigious Jordan Academy of Dance. She was piano accompanist for Ceccetti Ballet Training and Certification.  

She has recorded 2 CDs with her Celtic trio, Highland Fling. 

Her travels have taken her to England, Scotland, Ireland, Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Switzerland & Germany where she collected traditional music. While in England and Ireland, she performed in House Concerts, Pubs, and on-board ship in the Mediterranean.
